FAQs

When should I RSVP by?

We ask that you RSVP by 31st January 2026 - thanks!

Why are some people invited to the whole day and some are only evening guests?

We decided to keep our ceremony limited to add intimacy to the event, but please don't take it personally if you are only invited to the reception. We are so excited to invite everything single one of you to enjoy this day with us and know that we have only asked people we truly love to celebrate our day.

Please note, if your invite included details of the ceremony, then you have been invited to the ceremony. If you are confused about what part you have been invited to, please just contact and ask.

What should I wear?

We don't have a strict dress code, but aim for semi-formal/ cocktail.

There will be a ceilidh in the evening so we'd recommend choosing an outfit (and shoes!) that you feel comfortable dancing in.

We ask that you please avoid green clothing!

CAN I BRING MY INSTRUMENT?

We are lucky enough to have many friends and family who are musically gifted and if you would like, you are more than welcome to bring your instrument and join in with the ceilidh band/ play a tune - if you have something specific you'd like to perform, please get in touch!

Will there be food and drink provided?

Yes! For daytime guests, there will be drinks and light refreshment following the ceremony.

For everyone, there will be a hot-food buffet before the ceilidh. We will also provide everyone with two free drinks tokens at the reception, and you will be able to buy your own drinks from the bar afterwards - of course, soft and non-alcoholic drinks will be available too.

Note that Sloans does not accept cash, only card payments.

How do I get to the venues?

Already got that covered, check out this page.

What is the schedule for the day?

Check out this page.

Will the celebrations be indoors or outdoors?

The aim is to have the ceremony outside, but we have an indoor section just in case!

The reception will be fully indoors.

How will we get from the ceremony to the reception?

Don't worry about that, we have you covered! A hired bus will bring all ceremony guests to the reception venue.

Are the venues accessible?

The Hidden Gardens is fully wheelchair accessible.

Unfortunately Sloans is not fully accessible - the ballroom is upstairs and due to it being an old building, there is no lift. However, once you are on the correct floor the bar, toilet and cloakroom are all on the same floor.

Does the Hidden Gardens have toilets?

There are no public toilets within The Gardens, but you can use public toilets (fully accessible) in Tramway, which is next door.

Is there parking near the venues?

For the Hidden Gardens, there is only on-street car-parking available. For directions, use the google links on this page.

The nearest parking for Sloans would be the paid multi-storey parking lot at St. Enoch.

Can I bring someone with me?

We will have stipulated on your invite if a guest (e.g. plus one) has been provided. If this isn't specified on your invite then unfortunately no.

Should I bring a gift?

There are no expectations! If you would like to give us something, we have set up a place where you can contribute towards our honeymoon instead of a gift (but if you have already thought of a killer gift we won't say no!).

Any advice on where to stay in Glasgow?

We've thought of that too - check out this page.

Can I take photos during the wedding?

We ask that people don't take any photos during the ceremony, but we are happy for people to take photos and videos otherwise. â€‹

Can I post photos on social media?

We'd ask that you don't share them on the day, but otherwise we are more than happy for you to post - as long as you tag us and send us the originals!

I love that artwork on the front page - did you design that?

I wish! It was designed by our wonderful friend Ash Alexander.

I have tons of other questions - how do I get in touch?

Feel free to email ellencrosher@yahoo.co.uk.
